The evening also featured a special tribute to Athletic Director and Coach John Konecki, who recently celebrated his 100th career win following the team’s victory over Danville the week before. The Show Choir, under the direction of Ben Alifantis, performed a stirring rendition of the national anthem to open the game.
Alumni gathered in a VIP tent to reconnect and reminisce with fellow Warriors. The alumni table featured raffles, giveaways, alumni stories, and exclusive Crete-Monee Alumni T-shirts for sale. Meanwhile, the Warrior Boosters kept spirits high by selling fan and community apparel, serving delicious food from the concession stands, and the district hosted local food trucks.
The lively student section, cheerleaders, dance team, and marching band kept the crowd energized throughout the game. Halftime featured a show-stopping performance from the marching band and show choir, along with the introduction of the 2025 Homecoming Court, adding to the evening’s excitement.
Superintendent Dr. Kara Coglianese reflected on the evening, sharing, “It was an incredible turnout. It was wonderful to witness our alumni, staff, students, and community unite in support and showcase their Warrior spirit.”
On the field, quarterback Derrin Couch delivered a record-breaking performance, throwing five touchdown passes to surpass the school’s all-time record with 71 career touchdown passes, breaking the previous record of 69.
The Warriors dominated the game with an impressive final score of 68–6, capping off the night with fireworks that lit up the sky. The celebration embodied the pride, energy, and unity that define the Crete-Monee community.
