Over the weekend of April 22-27, the Crete-Monee Special Athletics team proudly represented our community at the Special Olympics Illinois – Region E Spring Games, held at Joliet Memorial Stadium. The event brought together athletes from across the region to compete in a spirited display of determination and sportsmanship.

Our athletes participated in several events, including the 50M Run, 100M Run, Mini Javelin, and Softball Throw. Competing alongside peers of varying abilities, they embraced the opportunity to challenge themselves, make new friends, and share memorable moments with their families and supporters.

The Warriors delivered outstanding performances across the board, bringing home an impressive medal haul: 7 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals, along with fourth, seventh, and eighth place finishes. Their achievements are a testament to their dedication, hard work, and team spirit.

Congratulations to Katherine, Jalen, Edgar, Romance, Milton, and Neveah, who have all qualified for the State Summer Games this June. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and can’t wait to cheer them on as they take the next step in their athletic journey.

Way to go, Warriors! We wish you the best of luck at State this summer!
